# Lunch Money [#lunch-money]

Sync your bank transactions to [Lunch Money](https://lunchmoney.app/?refer=lunch-flow) automatically. Lunch Money was the first destination supported by Lunch Flow.

## Prerequisites [#prerequisites]

* An active Lunch Money account
* At least one bank connected in Lunch Flow

## Setup [#setup]

  <Step>
    **Get your API token**

    In Lunch Money, go to **Settings → Developers** and generate a new API access token. Copy it.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    **Add the destination**

    In Lunch Flow, go to **Destinations → Add Destination → Lunch Money**. Paste your API token and click **Connect**.
  </Step>

  <Step>
    **Configure sync**

    Choose which bank accounts to synchronise, map them to existing Lunch Money accounts (or create new ones), adjust your sync preferences, and save.

## Connecting to an existing Lunch Money account [#connecting-to-an-existing-lunch-money-account]

When you connect an existing Lunch Money account, Lunch Flow imports new transactions and updates the balance of that account.

  To avoid duplicates, set the **sync start date** to a date after the last transaction already in your Lunch Money account. The initial import fetches 90 days of history; after that, only the last 7 days are synced to minimise duplicates. You can also use [Lunch Money's deduplication tool](https://lunchmoney.app/transactions/duplicates) if needed.
